How can I fix "cannot find a valid baseurl for repo" errors on CentOS

I finished installing CentOS 7, but when I tried running yum update I got:

[root@stark ~]# yum update
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, refresh-packagekit
Determining fastest mirrors
Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=6 ... 86&repo=os
error was 14: PYCURL ERROR 6 - "" Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: bas

Hi,

Check and make sure the nameserver entries in your /etc/resolv.conf file is correct.

Make sure the baseurl in the repository is correct. Either replace the baseurl with a valid url or comment the baseurl and run yum update.
